Doctor Web, Ltd. announces release of the Dr.Web® program modules updates and new 4.32b version.
Essential changes have been made in the Dr.Web® for Windows antivirus. The interaction of the SpIDer Guard for Windows NT/2000/XP resident monitor with the Security Center of MS Windows XP SP2 has been implemented. Now, the antivirus protection state control is strengthened by the close interaction of the operating system standard utilities.
Proactive protection system implemented in the Dr.Web® for Windows scanner has been considerably improved. Now, during the express check of autorun files made at the scanner startup the active Windows NT/2000/XP services are being checked too, which gives users more reliable tool allowing to detect the presence of the malicious code in memory during the first seconds after the scanner startup.
Among other main improvements and amendments implemented in version 4.32b are the following:
Antivirus engine (drweb32.dll)
- unpacking of files compressed by UPOLYX, PELOCK, FSG, MORPHINE, PECRYPT, YODA, PCSHRINK, SHAOLIN, PEDIMINISHER, BITARTS, UPC, MOLEBOX, PESPIN and other provided
- errors of checking ZIP-archives corrected
- error of checking damaged LHA and RAR-archives removed
- handling error of file attributes at curing corrected
DrWeb32w scanner (with GUI)
- check of active Windows NT/2000/XP services during the "autorun files" check implemented
- check of files with the reset access attributes provided (in NTFS)
SpIDer Guard for NT/2000/XP resident monitor
- integration with the Security Center of MS Windows XP SP2 provided
- problems of compatibility with some applications, such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw and other, are removed (blocking of temporary files of applications in Intel processors with Hyper Treading technology enabled)
- the option of temporary disabling/enabling file operations monitoring - "Pause[Resume]"
is made accessible for users having the Shutdown privilege
- error resulting in emergency shutdown of the SpIDer Guard GUI-agent running with some settings of the Guard in Windows 2000 eliminated
- error resulting in the Guard’s operation reset to the default settings instead of settings specified by a user corrected
- errors of processing license key files of old versions corrected
SpIDer Mail antivirus mail filter
- compatibility with MS ISA 2004 Firewall Client provided
Besides, some changes have been made in the updating utility of the virus bases and the program modules of Dr.Web®.
