Doctor Web, Ltd. announces the release of updates of Dr.Web program modules of version 4.33.
The main improvements have been made to SpIDer Guard for workstations under Windows NT/2000/XP and SpIDer Guard for Windows-based servers:
- extended protection mode’s operation has been substantially improved (delayed background scanning of files opened for reading or launched) – background scanning operational mode has now become much faster and system’s load level connected with it has been dramatically decreased;
- errors in Distributed File System (DFS) handling have been eliminated;
- workarounds for some errors in Windows 2000 were implemented. In Windows 2000, without Service Pack 4 being installed (in particular in Windows 2000 SP1 and SP2), in some cases such errors could result in a system crash;
- errors in SpIDer Guard settings were eliminated, including the memory leakage at settings change and errors of disabling of logging to a log file;
- the error in the user interface of SpIDer Guard not allowing the change of the load mode (automatic/manual) is fixed;
- the problems of control over changes in the configuration file (drweb32.ini) in which the settings of the Dr.Web programs are stored, are fixed;
- the “Pause” mode in the on-access scanning is saved now after the system’s reboot
The improved modules of the Dr.Web scanner with graphical interface, the Updating utility and the Scheduler , as well as of SpIDer Guard for Windows 95/98/Me have been released earlier.
The users who have already installed Dr.Web for Windows version 4.33 are updated automatically. For new users of version 4.33 these modules are available in the installation packages which can be downloaded from the web-server of Doctor Web, Ltd.
