Doctor Web, Ltd. introduces its "License renewal" for home users.
July 18, 2006
Doctor Web, Ltd. announces the release of a new retail product for home PC users, distributed in a DVD-box - "Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows. License renewal". The new product is specially designed for users who have previously purchased a license for Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows and would like to renew their license.

All Dr.Web products have always been subject to a license renewal discount of 30%. However, the existing system made it quite difficult to purchase a renewal in retail stores - for the user had to prove he was qualified for license renewal at the time of purchasing the product. With the new product around (sold at 30% lower prices than a standard Dr.Web anti-virus box), retail stores are releaved from checking users' credentials - any user that chooses to renew the license with the new box, will have to submit his/her previous Dr.Web license data at the time of online product registration.
"They do not need any more to provide a copy of their previous license or a previously used key file at the store. The checking procedure will be done automatically when registering the new serial number. We have already the first feedback from our resellers in Russia - looks like they liked this idea very much", - comments Boris Sharov, the CEO of Doctor Web, Ltd. "The new system also enables us to offer 100 bonus days for those users of Dr.Web who purchase their license at the standard price but are qualified for license renewal".

Release of the new product entailed changes in the update utility, which is the integral part of Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows. On July 18, this utility was released (see our news). From now on, during registration of a new serial number, a user will be asked to provide the previously used serial number or license key file of Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows.
