New version of Dr. Web Enterprise Suite brings more protection for corporate users

Doctor Web, Ltd. announces the release of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite v.4.33.1 for
large corporate networks and for medium and small businesses.
Almost all components of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite have been considerably improved:
the anti-virus administrator console, the server, the network installer and the agent.
A year ago previous version of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite was released.
Since that time Enterprise Suite was subject to many technological changes.
In comparison to previous versions, the performance of Enterprise Suite v.4.33.1
has become faster and it consumes fewer computer resources. This avoids any inconveniance for users related
to a reduced computer performance.
The updated version assures a reliable protection
against viruses and malware to users of mobile computers when they are not connected
to the corporate network. With the new version of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite a user travelling with his laptop
is guaranteed the same level of protection as if he was within his local network. If the enterprise anti-virus
server cannot be accessed from the internet, such user has just to launch the standard updating utility and bring
his virus definition bases up-to-date.
In addition, with the release of Enterprise Suite v. 4.33.1 users also receive improved mail protection. Dr.Web Enterprise Suite v.4.33.1 contains the necessary protective means which block infiltrations of malware into users` PCs. The updated version of the anti-virus supports interception and scanning of messages which are transferred via IMAP and NNTP protocols.
Technical features of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite v.4.33.1:
In the administrator console:

usage of operating memory and processor resources is considerably reduced;
- remote installation of anti-virus components by WMI implemented;
- in the stations status table the option to select online/offline stations is added;
- data export in XML,HTML and CSV formats implemented in the network explorer;
- the option to create tasks with more than 59 minutes interval implemented in the schedule editor;
- setting of quarantine for AV-components enabled again;
- errors of processing of settings of external database and e-mail notifications in server configuration file removed;
- processing of ODBC parameters corrected;
- memory leakage in Unix-systems caused in some cases by SWING 1.5 library removed;
- wrong display of stations names appearing in some cases in the stations status table eliminated;
- error in dates of notifications in the log file corrected;
- error in display of Russian computer names and users eliminated;
- language resources are corrected (mainly in English).
- Several minor improvements of the program interface are made as well.
In the server module:
- operating memory usage is reduced;
- startup check of database integrity improved;
- new command line key -bin-root added replacing -exe-root key; the -exe-root key will be supported later;
- to increase compatibility with different mail clients crlf is added to the line feed
in e-mail messages generated by the server;
- connection of incompatible consoles to the server is forbidden;
- problem with FreeBSD 5.3/5.4, appearing due to incorrect handiling by this operating system of POSIX signal
processing specification solved;
- error resulting in server shutdown operated by FreeBSD v.5.3 or higher corrected;
- error of deletion of directories with old backup copies corrected;
- erroneous encoding of stations names to UTF-8 encoding corrected;
- "Some client number went below zero" situation appearing in some cases eliminated;
- several uncommon errors in the built-in database removed;
- "Unable to get CPU time" error appearing sometimes on Linux-based servers corrected;
- in Windows-version of the server the error which caused under some conditions the "general error" system error corrected;
- error resulting in the loss of pid file during the server restart via drwcs.sh.

In the network installer:
- version check and uninstall of server installation packages of Dr.Web and Dr.Web Enterprise Agent
installed from MSI implemented;
- SpIDer Guard module installation in 64-bit Windows versions forbidden;
- the failure of the network installer to be run in some cases in Windows 98 corrected;
- Problem with the launch of the network installer for Windows 95 removed.
In the agent:
- instantaneous check of updates by the agent after the validation of such check is added;
- logging of information about the loaded bases into the log file during the agent operation is realized;
- the updating is improved. Now, the computer reboot under Windows NT is needed only if the drivers are updated;
- operation with quarantine is optimized;
- language resources are corrected (mainly in English);
- support of interception and scanning of IMAP and NNTP protocols is added;
- the option to update the virus bases of the agents disconnected from the ES server is added.
Besides the listed changes, the following modifications were made to the product:
- the anti-virus network continues to operate in cases when there is no permanent connection between the servers; in such situation synchronization with the parent server is performed from time to time;
- complete download of a file is realized during the anti-virus updating from the GUS server via HTTP;
- the operation to launch the scanner in safe-mode on all Windows-based operating systems, except for Windows 95 OSR2 is added;
- error of recognition of disconnection with Windows versions of the agent/server is removed;
- Windows NT4 and Windows 95 OSR 2 are supported again;
- number of supported operating systems increased. Added support of FreeBSD v.v. 5.5, 6.0 and 6.1 and of SuSе 10;
- packages for FreeBSD added;
- new installer for Windows version of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite based on InstallShield added.
