Program modules upgrade for Dr.Web for Windows released
November 28, 2006
Doctor Web, Ltd. announces upgrade of several modules of Dr.Web for Windows 9x-XP — new version of the module for protection of mail — SpIDer Mail and the updating utility.
To enhance the security, the upgraded SpIDer Mail is signed by the Verisign certificate. In addition, the erroneous processing of infected e-mails via IMAP protocol is corrected. Simultaneous start of SpIDer Mail and Enterprise-agent in Dr.Web Enterprise Suite solution for corporate anti-virus protection is provided.
The updating utility has also been modified. The progress bar is added which enables a user to keep an eye on the upgrade of the program modules and the update of the virus bases. However, when it comes to virus bases, exceptionally compact as a rule, the updates are downloaded so fast, that the process is actually not visible at all. The utility interface is slightly changed as well.
Dr.Web Anti-virus updates are available for automatic download at all Doctor Web, Ltd. update servers.
IMPORTANT! Restart the computer after the upgrade of SpIDer Mail.
