A new appliance server from Etegro Technologies, Doctor Web, Ltd. and Novell

Doctor Web, Ltd., Etegro Technologies and Moscow-based representative office of Novell announce a release of an appliance server designed to protect E-mail
and Internet traffic of medium and large companies from unwanted e-mail, viruses and other kinds of malware.
The appliance server is a ready-to-use comprehensive “plug and play” solution which
means that installation and support can be performed by an end-user. The installation procedure excludes any
configuration mistakes by staff members which reduces deployment time from several days to a few minutes.
The new appliance server is based on Novell SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and pre-installed Dr.Web
Security Suite for Unix Appliance solution from Doctor Web, Ltd. used to protect computer networks
from viruses and unwanted e-mail.
Dr.Web Security Suite for Unix Appliance includes products to protect mail traffic from viruses and spam
(Dr.Web Mail Security Suite for Unix Appliances) and to scan HTTP and FTP traffic for viruses ( Dr.Web
Gateway Security Suite for Unix Appliances in Unix-family networks (Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/Solaris(x86).
Engineers of Novell Consulting took part in development of the new server appliance using ETegro Technologies
hardware. An elaborated automatic installation procedure excludes a possibility of an error while configuring by a
customer IT-staff.
A VPN protection system from Infotecs is expected to be added to the components of the solution in the nearest
future, so the solution will be able to protect remote connections to local resources of a network and shield file
transfer and communication channels between offices of a customer.
This solutions will be supplied as the set of products and an appliance.
