Dr.Web command line scanners (MS DOS, Windows, OS/2) version 4.44 are released

Doctor Web, Ltd., a leading Russian developer of IT security solutions announces the release of Dr.Web command line scanners (MS DOS, Windows, OS/2) version 4.44.

The main difference from the previous versions is an extended functionality of the new anti-virus engine. In particular, the new version supports the Origins Tracing technology that utilizes a unique algorithm of non-signature detection of malware and is used as an addition to a traditional signature-based scan and Dr.Web heuristic analyzer to increase detection rate. Names of malicious objects detected using the new technology have the “.Origin” extension.

A number of supported archivers and packers has significantly increased in the new version.

Windows Vista support has been implemented.
