Beta-version 4.44 of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite released
December 10, 2007
Doctor Web, Ltd. launches beta-testing of the new version of Dr.Web
Enterprise Suite - a solution for comprehensive protection of companies and enterprises.
The following changes have been done to the Dr.Web Enterprise Suite
4.44 agent:
- Windows Vista support has been implemented.
- The anti-spam filter has been added, the filter utilizes the VadeRetro
technology which has already been implemented in Dr.Web solutions for Windows
workstations and mail servers and has proven to be very efficient.
- Origins Tracing™ technology of non-signature search is used.
It is combined with a traditional signature scan and heuristic analysis. All
objects detected using the new technology have the “.origin” extension in their
names. The new technology significantly increases detection of unknown
malicious programmes.
- The scanner of the agent also features an additional driver called Dr.Web
Shield, it has been designed to counter rootkits. The driver is loaded
automatically as the scanner is launched on an agent machine.
- Now it supports a mobile protection mode/ When an agent is not connected
to a server, it still can be updated using Dr.Web Global Updating System. This may come in handy if you are going on a business trip
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite performs the following tasks:
- centralized installation (employees do not have to perform an
installation) of anti-virus packages on protected computers (workstations and
servers of a local area network);
- centralized configuration of anti-virus packages;
- centralized software and virus databases updates for protected machines;
- monitoring virus events and status of anti-virus packages and operating
systems for all machines connected to an anti-virus server.
All programme management routines are performed by an administrator of an
anti-virus network, so users do not need to install, configure or update.
Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is designed to run on various
platforms. It can be installed on Windows machines, as well as on Unix machines. Now a number of supported OS has increased, the server supports the 64-bit architecture and is compatible with Sparc processor used for SUN
servers.
To make it even more convenient for administrators the management console
distribution is supplied separately from the basic package which makes it
smaller and easier to install. The console also supports a wide range of
platforms.
To join beta-testing of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite 4.44 you should register in
the testers section of the web-site: beta.drweb.com. Registered beta-testers can
download an installation package for a target OS in the file section of the web-site.
