Doctor Web came to China at the eve of Olympics
May 2, 2008
Sales of Dr.Web anti-virus have been launched in China.
A conference devoted to the launch of Dr.Web anti-virus sales in the PRC took place in Beijing on April 21, 2008. The event was held by Doctor Web, Ltd. and its Chinese distributor - Dao to Beibu.
The hard work of both parties to preparing the product for the Chinese market preceeded the conference: localization of the interface and documentation, development of the product style that a Chinese consumer would understand, launching of the web-site .
State institutions as well as private companies and journalists took interest in the event. Parties were answering questions of the press for two hours after the conference was over. Questions addressed to representatives of both companies showed great interest in the issue of virus protection and familiarity of journalists with many aspects of latest anti-virus technologies.
“Getting to the vast rapidly growing Chinese market is an step forward to our company – Boris Sharov, the Doctor Web, Ltd. CEO comments, – We think that outlooks for our product called a big spider by local users are promising. We realize that it’s a difficult task because Chinese users have a lot of anti-viruses to choose from. We rely on state-of-the art Dr.Web technologies and well-planned marketing policy of our partners. One of the nearest plans is to establish a Centre of technical support for all Dr.Web products in Chinese to meet high demands of users”.
Chinese market responded to the new product very quickly. The number of distribution downloads in first 24 hours for Chinese language exceeded the number of downloads for other languages put together.
