Telnet secures its subscribers with Dr.Web anti-virus

The successful deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk allows Telnet to deliver anti-virus and anti-spam protection to its subscribers.

The management of Telnet got the idea to employ the service from Doctor Web in the spring of 2008 when Dr.Web AV-Desk had already been highly rated by Russian ISPs striving for better security of their networks and customers.

Besides, Dr.Web AV-Desk was expected to reduce the workload of the support service that received regular infection calls from subscribers. In fact, the issue is quite common among providers in Russia.

Even now it is already clear that introduction of Dr.Web AV-Desk has brought along numerous benefits. In particular it has shielded user PCs against all types of malware, spyware, password stealers, key-loggers, adware, hacking tools and spam. As a consequence processing of requests from subscribers is now much faster and more efficient.

In order to subscribe for the anti-virus service users of Telnet have to file a request via e-mail or contact the support over the phone. A user gets a free two month subscription after which the service will be provided at a fee of USD 2.52.

“After the service have been deployed we have fewer problems with malware and reduced viral traffic which is used by malicious programs running on an infected machine. Mind that such uncontrolled network activities could dramatically increase expenses of customers as well as of a provider company. The head of Telnet Sergey Kapkan gave his comment on the preliminary results of the service deployment.
